Children’s Home

The Children’s Home (CH), which is funded through Haiti Joy Hope on a monthly sponsor basis (a total of $100/month per child, with 1-3 sponsors per child) and visited regularly by the Haiti Joy Hope Executive Director and team members, is home to 15-20 kids, mostly rescued street children ages 8-20, some orphaned, some having run away from abusive living situations, most brought by the IBESR (similar to the US Division of Family Services) and confirmed to be in desperate need.   The children live at the CH and are cared for – physically, spiritually and educationally – until the IBESR is able to locate their parents or a family member who will provide a safe home and is willing and able to care for them on a permanent basis. With Haiti currently in a greater economic crisis than experienced in prior decades, the price of food has gone up dramatically, and a humanitarian crisis has further developed. This is why we are currently building our sponsorship in order to more adequately support the basic needs for each child and the Children’s Home.
