Friday and Saturday were both days that we once again couldn’t leave the Family Inn where we were staying. The radio was on all day as they/we listened to reports from around the country. So much sadness, but also some sweet testimonies to the graciousness of Haitians, even the leaders of the “revolution” … ex:  telling people to stay home and be safe; raiding police stations but not hurting policemen, taking everything, then giving it all back later in the week. There were some deaths on these days, most likely related to the size of crowds and frustration/desperation of some as they are running out of food, etc. Prayers are needed, which was even expressed on the radio.

Even as all of this was going on, they held an all day service of worship, prayer and time in the Word of God at the church, which included 100-200 people at one point walking through the streets surrounding the church, singing and encouraging people.

On Sunday morning, the attendance almost tripled since the previous Sunday.  People were courageous to walk or ride to the church campus. Their energy was high (children through adults) as they listened to the preaching of the Word and worshipped with their whole hearts. It was a beautiful thing to observe and be a part of! Teach me how to have a heart like that, Lord!
